Well my shoulder quit aching and I got A's in all my classes . Not only A's but two A+'s and no A-'s. So I still have a 4.0. In other news I'm working on my raytracer you can take a lool at http://www.math.ucdavis.edu/~bjwbell I've also been editing the davis wiki website at http://www.daviswiki.org
I was out biking with my dad today and my bike frame broke. Which is pretty anoying considering I got the bike in april. I have used it pretty hard but not that hard. I'm just happy it happend after finals.
Well I took my Linguistics final. The teacher was really nice and had the scores posted at around 5:00 p.m. I got 100% which I know is an inflated score since I got at least one question wrong. In looking back on my finals it's kind of funny how large the difference was in the amount of studying I did for each final. By far I did the least studying for the linguistics final. For the linguistics final I only read my notes three or four times. For the other finals I redid old tests I did the ...
Yeah I got an A in my partial differential equations class. I managed to get an 89.5% on the final and I was ranked third. The average score on the final was 55%. In the class I was ranked third out 46. So I'm pretty happy. I just need to do well on my linguistics final tomorrow and hopefully I'll get A's in all my classes
My physics final went much better than I thought it would. I was finished with all the problems I did in one and a half hours. I attemped to do 7 out of the eight problems. I know I got 3 problems completly correct. You only need to get about 5 of the problems correct to get an A. So I think I got an A. After I finished the final I was talking to the teacher and he thought I should be a physics major which was cool. It's a nice ego booster when the teacher tries to recruit you into their fi...
I just had the final exam for the Partial Differential equations class. It was an awful test. Out of the 11 questions I couldn't fully answer the last 3. I'm just hoping eveyone else does terrible also. The class was fairly easy but for some reason that final was awful. My intro to abstract math final was okay. So I expect to get an A in that course. After that final in Partial Differential equations I'm just hoping for a B. I still have a physics final on friday and a linguistics fin...
I should be studying for my math final. But I felt like taking a break to update my blog. I was thinking about how much I talk to people and I concluded that it's pretty rare for me to have much of a conversation with anybody. I talk to my sisters and parents everyday but not much. Anyways things I going pretty good. I just have to do well on my finals to do well in my classes so that's pretty much all I'm thinking about right now.
The professor for my analytical mechanics class had to go to INS(Imigration Naturalization Service) to get new finger prints. So the TA taught. And he was bad! The class was correcting his mistakes and finally he made so many mistakes that we quit correcting him! The quiz at the end of class was doable I hope I got the correct answer my last quiz I only got 8/10 the average was 5/10. In other news my ray tracer is coming along and I now have diffuse lighting and shadows. The shadows are...
I turned in my intro to abstract math homework yesterday. I didn't find the homework too hard it was just about right. I took a quiz in analytically mechanics today. I think he made it a little to easy but some people still didn't get correct. Overall I'm not finding UC Davis to be too hard but I'll see how I do on the exams. The quality of students is definetly higher than it was in my linear algebra class at sac state. So I'm pretty happy. I think it will be a good fit. My classes this quar...
I turn my first homewok for Intro to Abstract Math tomarrow I'll see how I do on it. So far I'm enjoying all my classes. None of them seem too difficult. And I'm so glad that the classes will hopefully be harder and I hope the teachers will cover some of the more advanced material. It's really cool that I'm only ten minutes away from class so I can be the clasic lazy college student and not get up till right before class.
I got a job monitoring the computer lab in the Computer Science department at UC Davis. This is really cool for me because the hours are just right Sunday 10am-6pm and it's doing something relaxing just monitoring the lab so hopefully when it's not busy I can do my homework and program. The only bad thing is it's only $6.75 an hour but that the price I pay for getting a job that won't interfear with school which is very important. I'm also hoping that I'll get to know the computer scien...
I'm back in davis and not doing much. I have done some work on my tetris clone and my 3D software renderer. I'm going to finish a 3D visualzation app for my mentor at Lawerence Berkeley Lab. Other than that I've watched a bunch of movies my sister got the blockboster movie pass deal so I've been watching at least a movie a day. I also went fort a nice long bike ride today I feel much better for having done it.
Tomorrow is my last day working at the Lawrence Berkeley National Labatory. I miss the people and events at the same time I'm ready for a vacation. I'll be really really happy to do some hiking. My mom dad and I are going to Mount Rainer the week after next which I'm really looking forward to. Next summer I'm going to try and get a intership at UC Davis mainly because I'll already be going to school there so housing will be paid for and it won't be as stressful.
We had the Lawarence Berkeley Lab Poster event today. This is where all the undergraduate interns present their posters. They had a big room where you would velcro you poster to the poster boards and people would walk around and hopefully ask you questions about your poster. I think my poster was pretty good I had about 5 or 6 people ask me questions about it of course most of them were from the group I work in but I'm still happy about. Now I'm pretty much just wrapping up. I have to submit ...
I reading at how the only way to get good at writing is to write a lot. Sadly I tend to have a very strong internal filter so I don't write what I really feel. This makes it so I don't write much at all. I am going to be more like darmagirl and be blunt.
